Review: This is the 2nd book in the Xenogenesis series, which started with Dawn. You should definitely read that before this. In the new book, Akin grows from a child to metamorphosis. The human resisters to Oankali rule fight amongst themselves. And we learn a great deal more about the Oankali, who are one of the most interesting alien species I have read of.
About the Author: Octavia Butler was an
American science fiction writer. She won the Hugo and Nebula awards
multiple times and won a MacArthur fellowship. She died in 2006.
